Mayor Rolando Uy on Thursday ordered the immediate arrest of perpetrators behind two shooting incidents in the city that took place in broad daylight.

During the Joint Regional Task Force-End Local Communist Armed Conflict (ELCAC)-11 meeting here, Duterte thanked the support of stakeholders in sustaining the “gains of peace” in the region.

The landslide at Zone 1 in Barangay Masara claimed 98 lives, while eight persons remained missing.

In a statement Thursday, BTA Speaker Pangalian Balindong said members of the BTA have sworn allegiance to the Constitution, “however, the 1987 Constitution is not cast in stone and is open to amendment to adapt to the changing conditions of the time.”

Senator Sherwin Gatchalian, whose family hails from the donor city, led the turnover of 12,800 sacks of rice to Agusan Del Sur, PHP4.75 million (3,800 sacks); Davao de Oro, PHP4.25 million (3,400 sacks); and Davao Oriental, PHP7 million (5,600 sacks of rice).

Marcos gave the directive, after he was briefed about the damage to infrastructure following the recent flooding and earthquake in the region.

Las Nieves Mayor Karen Rosales received 310 sacks of rice and 350 food packs from the office of Agusan del Norte 1st District Rep. Jose Aquino III and the Tingog Party-list.

On Thursday, Davao City’s 3rd District Councilor Myrna Dalodo-Ortiz said apart from the calamity fund, the council also approved PHP19 million in assistance to other local government units in the form of welfare goods, and PHP6.1 million in financial assistance to other provinces.

"Maraming salamat Pangulong Bongbong Marcos sa lahat ng tulong na ipinaabot mo sa mga apektadong lugar sa buong (Thank you very much President Bongbong Marcos for all the help that you have extended for the affected areas in the entire) Davao Region," Duterte said in a Facebook post.
