Senator Koko Pimentel adds another one to his steaming pile of controversies as supermarket chain S&R releases a statement that further proves he repeatedly violated the quarantine protocols.

In the official statement, the S&R team wrote that they decided to review their CCTV footage after discovering a viral post that surfaced on March 25. After thorough investigation, they spotted Senator Pimentel shopping.

“It was confirmed that the senator was at S&R BGC on March 16, 2020. CCTV footage showed him checking out at counter 13 at exactly 1:59 pm,” the statement read. “As a result, S&R employees who were in contact with the senator were already placed in quarantine while S&R BGC also took extra disinfection steps,” it added.

“We would like to assure S&R members that we are taking measures to maintain the safety of our members. We disinfect our stores daily and ascertain that our staff are clear prior to work,” S&R stated.

Staff in the food industry, including supermarket and production, are exempted from the enhanced community quarantine.

The retail company, on the other hand, did not disclose how many employees are going to be put under quarantine.

His wife Kathryna once claimed, “For weeks now he was in self quarantine and practicing social distance. We don’t even share a room for 10 days already.” However, her husband himself contradicted her when S&R verified that the senator was seen shopping in the midst of self-quarantine period.

Senator Pimentel has been under fire lately for violating the quarantine protocol. He accompanied his pregnant wife to the Makati Medical Center and has been expose to at least 6 to 8 medical staff. Due to this, the institution slammed him for his “irresponsible” and “reckless” actions.

As of March 25 (4PM) , Department Of Health cited 636 COVID-19 cases with 38 deaths and 36 recoveries.
