MANILA – The Philippine National Police (PNP) on Sunday reported 331 new recoveries from the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19).

The latest Covid-19 bulletin of the PNP Health Service showed the recovery count at 43,917 out of the overall 47,194 infections since the start of the pandemic nearly two years ago.

Another 204 new cases were also recorded, bringing the active case tally to 3,151 but lower than Saturday’s 3,278.

From 4,015 on January 17, active cases have continued to drop.

The death toll stands at 126 with no new fatalities recorded.

PNP chief Gen. Dionardo Carlos previously said the number of infected cops increased a bit but majority are asymptomatic.

He said they continue to discharge their functions while under isolation at home or in a facility.

From as low as 11 active infections on Dec. 22, 2021, cases jumped to as high as 4,028 on January 15.

Also as of Sunday, the PNP said 217,386 (96.51 percent) out of a total of 225,239 personnel have been fully vaccinated, while 6,819 (3.03 percent) are waiting for their second dose.

Only 1,034 PNP personnel (0.46 percent) have yet to receive the vaccine. (PNA)
