Most Filipinos appreciate the Marcos administration’s handling of the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19), according to the result of the OCTA Research’s latest Tugon ng Masa poll.

The survey conducted from Oct. 23 to 27 found that 92 percent of adult Filipinos approve of the government’s response to prevent the further spread of Covid-19.

The latest approval score was higher by 10 percent from the 83 percent in March 2022 under the Duterte administration.

Around 49 percent of the respondents said they “truly approve” while 43 percent said they “somewhat approve” of the Marcos administration’s Covid-19 response efforts.

Only two percent expressed disapproval while five percent were ambivalent.

The government earned the highest approval rating from respondents in Metro Manila and the Visayas, getting 94 percent each.

Approval of government’s response against the coronavirus was also high in Balance Luzon (92 percent) and Mindanao (91 percent).

The administration enjoyed the highest rating from Classes D and E with 94 percent each, followed by the 83-percent approval rating from Class ABC.

OCTA Research interviewed 1,200 respondents aged 18 and above, using a margin of error of plus/negative 3 percent.

As of Dec. 11, about 73,709,000 or 94.38 percent of the country’s target population (78,100,578) are fully vaccinated against Covid-19.

Of the total, 21,038,386 have received booster shots.

Covid-19 cases increased by 7 percent after 8,292 infections were recorded by the Department of Health from Dec. 5 to 11.
