Some 3,314 poor but deserving students in this province have received financial assistance from the provincial government under its “Tulong Pang-Edukasyon para sa Kabataang Bulakenyo” program.

Governor Daniel Fernando on Monday said the Provincial Administrator’s Office has facilitated the distribution of financial aid to beneficiaries enrolled in private universities and colleges as well as those who are taking their masteral degree.

During the distribution, a total of 3,092 students enrolled in private universities and colleges received PHP3,500 each while some 222 masteral students were given PHP5,000 each.

“Sinisikap po natin na maipagkaloob ang tulong pinansiyal sa ating mga qualified at deserving na estudyante sa kabila ng kinakaharap natin na pandemya dahil batid po ng inyong lingkod na malaking tulong ito para matupad ang kanilang mga pangarap. Tulad ni Jose Rizal, naniniwala po ako na ang mga kabataan ang pag-asa ng bayan (We are trying to provide financial assistance to our qualified and deserving students amid the pandemic because I know that it is a big help for the fulfillment of their dreams. Like Jose Rizal, I believe that the youth is the hope of our nation,” Fernando said.

Catherine Inocencio, Executive Assistant III, added that they are still distributing financial assistance to qualified students in senior high school and those enrolled in state universities and colleges, including the Bulacan Polytechnic College and Bulacan State University.

Inocencio said since last June 16, they have been distributing checks to some 300 beneficiaries a day in different venues. (PNA)
