The Supreme Court (SC) has implemented a reorganization of its three divisions following the appointment of Associate Justice Ricardo Rosario.
In Special Order No. 2795 issued by Chief Justice Diosdado Peralta dated October 9 and released on Monday, the reorganization would take effect on October 19 with the first division to be chaired by him with Associate Justice Alfredo Benjamin S. Caguioa as working chairperson, and Associate Justices Rosmari D. Carandang, Rodil V. Zalameda, and Samuel H. Gaerlan as members.
On the other hand, the second division will be chaired by Senior Associate Justice Estela M. Perlas Bernabe with Associate Justices Alexander G. Gesmundo, Amy C. Lazaro Javier, Mario V. Lopez, and Priscilla J. Baltazar Padilla as members.
Associate Justice Marvic Leonen will head the third division with Associate Justices Ramon Paul L. Hernando, Henri Jean Paul B. Inting, Edgardo L. delos Santos, and Rosario as members.
Rosario, the SC’s 189th associate justice, was appointed by President Rodrigo Duterte last week. He replaced Associate Justice Jose Reyes Jr. who mandatorily retired from service after turning 70 on September 18.
He served as a Court of Appeals justice and a trial court judge in Manila and Makati. (PNA)
