The city government of Iloilo still finds ways to celebrate love amid the coronavirus disease-2019 (COVID-19) pandemic.

Mayor Jerry Treñas hosted a wedding ceremony of six couples on Wednesday. Dubbed as “The City of Love”, the attendees ensured that precautionary measures are observed during the event.

Treñas stood around six feet away from the lovers as he officiated the wedding.

Despite the quarantine protocols at hand, Filipinos have been creative in finding alternatives to their regular activities ever since the COVID-19 pandemic hit the country.

As of December 1, Iloilo City has recorded a 94.71% recovery rate due to its contact tracing efforts. Even then, Treñas actively reminds his constituents to remain vigilant and stay safe by properly complying with the COVID-19 safety measures.
