Filipino inventor Marcelo Villagas Alberca, a mechanic and former OFW from Saudi Arabia, spent a decade of trial and error in making his invention called “water-fuel”.

His invention that runs only with distilled water can go as far as 80 kilometers per 700ml of distilled water which costs around Php 30 compared to gasoline which would cost him around Php 150.

Marcelo got the idea from a book in hydraulics from India which was lent to him by his friend in Saudi, and saw the potential for water to be used as fuel.

How it works

The bike has a reservoir of water and a different container that separates the particles of hydrogen and oxygen in the water.
The hydrogen is fed into the carburetor and used as fuel by the engine, which has a three-fold power combustion than gasoline.

Of all the chemical elements, hydrogen is the cleanest. The combustion of petrol and diesel produces nitric oxide, carbon monoxide, and methane, all of which are harmful to the ozone layer. Whereas hydrogen reacts with oxygen, it produces only water vapor as exhaust, which is harmless to the environment.
