The city government is set to launch Wednesday a new registration system for electronic quarantine pass (e-QPass) application.

Computer Services Division (CSD) personnel Alan Aizon and Friyanti Ismael were prompted to develop a new registration system after the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) Data Center received as of Monday more than 3,000 Facebook messages inquiring about the e-QPass.

This city was reverted to the stricter Modified Enhanced Community quarantine (MECQ) from the Modified General Community Quarantine (MGCQ) effective May 8.

Mayor Maria Isabelle Climaco-Salazar said the applicants are those whose quarantine passes issued by the city government were either lost or damaged.

Salazar said the development of the new registration system is part of an effort of the city government to better serve the public.

The new system will allow applicants to directly encode their personal information in the website, the mayor said, adding it also requires attaching valid identification cards (IDs) of the main and alternate users, and a Barangay Certificate.

After submitting the required data, Salazar said the applications will be validated and processed for the generation of quick response (QR) codes.

She said an email would be sent to the applicants attaching their e-QPass once it is validated.
