Cagayan De Oro City Representative Rufus Rodriguez urged all lawmakers to stop all judgments and criticisms against Senator Manny Pacquiao and instead support his upcoming boxing bout with American Errol Spencer, Jr.
“I am calling for a ceasefire on attacks against our boxing icon to allow him to focus single-mindedly on his training. He has to prepare well for his fight. There should be nothing to distract and bother him,” Rodriguez said.
Rodriguez called on the two factions to raise their argument to the Commission on Elections and the Supreme Court when Secretary Alfonso Cusi elected Aquilino Pimentel Jr. as party president, replacing Pacquiao.
“This the proper way to resolve this issue. In the meantime, Secretary Cusi should now go back to attending to our energy-related problems like the red and yellow alerts signifying short supply in Metro Manila and other parts of Luzon,” Rodriguez said.
The Filipino boxer is currently busy training in Los Angeles, California and has not been attending to any criticism and personal attacks so he could focus on his upcoming fight at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada on Aug. 21.
