“Kailangang makuha na ng health frontliners ang tulong mula sa gobyerno. Marami kasing unused and/or misused na nabisto ang Commission on Audit (COA). Nakikiusap ako sa Department of Health (DOH) na irelease na ito.” 

Ito ang binigyang-diin ni BHW Partylist Rep. Angelica Natasha Co sa gitna ng patuloy na imbestigasyon ng Kamara at Senado sa hindi naibigay na special risk allowance (SRA) na inilaan para sa healthcare workers.

Ayon kay Co, tumatakbo ang panahon at mahalagang malutas ang kontrobersiya kaugnay sa ‘deficient’ pandemic spending ng DOH.. Dagdag niya, responsibilidad ng COA na magsagawa ng regular at special audits para sa nationwide at local government units (LGUs).

Sa kabila ng taunang pag-audit, tila nagkakaroon pa rin ng pattern o “replay” pagdating sa resulta sapagkat pare-parehas lamang ang nagiging resulta sa tuwing ginaganap ito.

“Paulit-ulit na lang ang maraming COA findings, hindi lang sa DOH kundi sa iba pang ahensiya ng pamahalaan,” inihayag ng representative.

“Palagay ko dapat maging misyon ng 18th Congress na simulan nang ayusin ang audit process and budget absorption process. Pamana natin dapat ito sa susunod na Kongreso at susunod na administrasyon,” rekomenda ni Co.
