The city government of Manila assured it has enough facilities to cater to patients afflicted with the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19), residents or not.

As of noontime on Monday, the capital city’s six district hospitals have a combined 73-percent occupancy rate, with 365 of its 501 beds dedicated to Covid-19 cases occupied.

The data provided by the Manila Public Information Office to the media showed that among the city’s six district hospitals, only Gat Andres Bonifacio Memorial Medical Center (GABMMC), located on Delpan St. in Tondo, has exceeded its capacity.

GABMMC has 75 Covid-19 beds but it has 89 patients admitted.

Ospital ng Sampaloc has a 93-percent occupancy rate; Ospital ng Tondo, 89 percent; Justice Jose Abad Santos General Hospital, 81 percent; Sta. Ana Hospital, 62 percent; and Ospital ng Maynila, 50 percent.

The Covid-19 Field Hospital at the Quirino Grandstand is 83 percent occupied, with 287 or its 344 Covid-19 beds in use.

Asymptomatic, mild, and moderate Covid-19 patients are isolated and treated in 12 quarantine facilities.

Of the 529 beds in quarantine sites, only 136 are occupied.

Manila on Monday logged 232 new Covid-19 cases, bringing the number of active cases to 1,122.

Another 272 were reported to have recovered.

Sampaloc reported the most number of active infections with 308 cases, followed by Tondo 1 with 145, and Sta. Cruz with 120 cases. (PNA)
