Veteran broadcast and news journalist Noli De Castro said goodbye to his long-running program on TeleRadyo, confirming his return to politics.
De Castro, who was Vice President from 2004 to 2010 and lead anchor of the evening news program TV Patrol, announced on his TeleRadyo show that he will be leaving ABS-CBN to run for senator as part of Manila Mayor and presidential aspirant Isko Moreno’s Aksyon Demokratiko party.
This is not the first time the former Vice President exited the program to gun for a Senate post. Back in 2001, he topped the senatorial elections as an independent candidate with more than 16 million votes. Â
In the 2004 elections, De Castro ran for Vice President, winning by a narrow margin over former Senator Loren Legarda.
