The Commission on Elections (COMELEC) has rejected over 100 applications for party-list registration ahead of the 2022 elections.

COMELEC denied the motions for reconsideration of 107 party-list groups in total, according to a copy of the resolution released on Saturday.

Nora Aunor’s National Organization for Responsive Advocacy for the Arts (NORAA), Nurses United, LGBTQ Plus, and transport groups Manibela and TDP Truck Drivers PH are among those denied accreditation.

Meanwhile, 13 groups, including Chef Boy Logro’s LOGRO Kusinero, Mocha Uson’s Mother for Change, and Celine Pialago’s Malasakit Movement, are still awaiting approval from COMELEC.

“Kung hindi ako nagkakamali 167 yung na-accredit, at meron pa tayong mga ilang pending, tapos merong 107 na hindi isasama sa raffle. Ibig sabihin denied ‘yung kanilang registration,” COMELEC spokesperson James Jimenez said.

“Siyempre iba-iba ‘yung dahilan for the denial, pero for the most part ang nakita natin pinakamarami dahilan siguro ay ‘yung hindi nila pagtugon sa requirements ng accreditation process,” he added.

However, Jimenez said that names could still be added to the list of 167 party-lists that have been granted accreditation.

Jimenez also said that the official list of 2022 election candidates will be released by mid-December.

“Ganoon pa rin ang tinitingnan natin, tinataya natin mga mid-December. So, baka late this week or early next week,” he stated.
