BBM-Sara senatorial aspirant Harry Roque encouraged all Filipinos to choose candidates that are experts in crafting laws and veterans in the legislative procedures, especially in domestic and international laws.
According to Roque, he also added that a legislator must be well-versed and has a keen understanding of how the Philippine laws including the judicial process and jurisprudence are carried out to satisfy the interest of the Filipinos.
“I encourage the electorate to vote for legislators who have demonstrated a keen understanding of how Philippine laws and jurisprudence work to advance the national interest,” Roque stated.
The former presidential spokesperson stated that if legislators could not effectively implement their own duty and responsibility, they cannot promote the greater interest of the people.
“I appeal to the public to weigh in on a candidate’s capacity to enact laws that would bring utmost benefits to them. They should scrutinize their political platform and advocacies through the years.” Roque said.
If elected as a senator for the 2022 election, Roque urged to push the ‘zero hunger’ law, three-day court hearing rule, deduction of electricity, and better yet manageable health coverage.
Roque, as a former member of the Congress, sponsored 10 laws and was signed during the Duterte administration and filed 220 bills for the past 18 months in Congress.
He was also the principal author of the laws such as the Universal Health Care act, free irrigation for farmers, national AIDS law, free wi-fi in public places, free school lunch for school children, and free tuition for state universities and college students.
