Isko Moreno Domagoso said if elected president he will propose an amendment to make senate seats composed of 34 senators, from which they are elected regionally for a well-balanced representation, during an ambush interview yesterday, February 23, in General, Santos City.
Aksyon Demokratiko standard-bearer stated that the legislative branch is dominated by politicians who came from famous and wealthy families who could afford to fund their campaign and get elected. Moreno reiterated his goal to see Indigenous People (IP) in the senate and others who came from different regions.
The Manila Mayor reiterated this proposal due to the needs of the people and to attain an effective budget deliberation. “My dream and aspiration, you will see a senate full of highly diverse individuals.
Moreno also discussed the need to shift into a two-party political system to avoid the commotion and political fights between the president and vice president so that they will not lose focus in serving the country.
