Presidential Aspirant and Vice President Leni Robredo promised that if elected she will promote the use of renewable sources of energy to achieve economic development in the province during her campaign rally in Calbayog City, Samar.

Robredo mentioned that the use of the energy subsidies will lessen the burden of the poor households in Samar, reiterating that the energy will become affordable.

According to Leni, “Kinakailangan talaga mag-subsidize ang pamahalaan rito, lalo na may renewable resources kayo rito.”

The Presidential Aspirant told the use of energy subsidies is relevant now more than ever with the fuel prices continuously rising, “Ang mahal ng presyo ng gasolina. Kung hindi isa-subsidize ito, hindi tayo aasenso.”

Aside from Robredo’s support for the use of renewable energy in the province, she also discussed the initative that the Office of the Vice President (OVP) did in Samar during this pandemic such as giving personal protective equipment (PPE), medical supplies, and vaccines.

“Yung kakaunting meron kami, walang nahuhulog sa korapsyon. Yung kaunting meron kami, nakasisiguro na mapupunta siya doon sa mga lugar na talagang nangangailangan,” Robredo stated.
