Vice Presidential Aspirant Vicente “Tito” Sotto reiterated that Nationalist People’s Coalition (NPC) has not yet endorsed the tandem of BBM-Sara, this is after the selected local leaders of the party support the UniTeam.
According to Sotto, “Let me make this clear: The NPC has not endorsed any presidential candidate. While regional and/or provincial chapters may have their preferred list of candidates, such choices do not reflect the NPC as a national coalition of political allies and people’s groups.”
Sotto also expressed his disappointment to a reputable news organization for their reports favoring certain candidates by creating a misleading headline or title.
Vice Presidential Candidate told reporters that news reports claiming that he is the NPC chair are unacceptable and desperate. He also said that this kind of reporting should stop, citing that press freedom in the country is misused and abused.
Meanwhile, the second district Representative of Tarlac Victor Yap showed support to the tandem of Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos and Mayor “Inday” Sara Duterte in their rallies in the province.
Governor Susan Yap, head of NPC-Tarlac, told that it is her personal decision to support the UniTeam and it does not reflect on the entire party. The Marcos-Duterte tandem is backed by the 14 Tarlac Mayors allied with NPC.
