The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board in Davao Region (LTFRB-11) released the last tranche of its fuel subsidy on Saturday.

A total of 628 operators of Utility Vehicle Express and 5,196 for cabs will receive their Pantawid Pasada” cards while 708 public utility units with blocked or purged cards will get new cards.

Each fuel subsidy card is worth PHP6,500 that can be used for refueling, not to be converted to cash.

Of the PHP2.55 billion national budget, LTFRB-11 received PHP138 million.

LTFRB chief Martin Delgra III said the Marcos administration will have the authority to decide on whether the “Pantawid Pasada” program for the public transport sector will be continued.

“We hope for that. But the new leaders, I think, they will not overlook the situation of the transport sector at this time of pandemic and fuel surcharge,” Delgra said in an interview.

The fuel subsidy program includes drivers or operators of cabs, traditional and modern jeepneys, buses, and tourist transports. (PNA)
