The Commission on Elections (Comelec) has received about 490,000 voter registrations since the resumption of voter applications on July 4. 

Among these registrants were 302, 040 15-17 year olds; 157, 925 aged 18-30 year olds; and 27, 663 aged 31 and above. 

The Comelec earlier said that the projected number of Barangay voters is 66,053,357. Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) voters were expected to be 23,059,227. 

Laudingco said that under Republic Act 8189 or the Continuing Voter’s Registration Act, voter registration will be prohibited within 120 days prior to the elections. 

With this, COMELEC will continue to receive applications until July 23, 2022, Saturday, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. 

As of writing, the SK and Barangay Elections will be held on December 5, 2022

The Election Contests Adjudication Department (ECAD) of the COMELEC recorded that among the registrants, 88,471 applied for transfer from within the same city or municipality; 3,686 applied for re-activation, and 1,323 applied for transfer with reactivation and correction of entries. 

Additionally, 27,883 applied for re-activation, while for 6,303 applied for reactivation with correction of entries. 

There were 18,577 who applied for correction of names or correction of entries, while 58 applied for inclusion in the book overters. There were 11 who sought reinstatement in the list of voters; and 1,697 who applied for transfer from overseas voting to local voting.

The COMELEC also released a copy of Resolution No. 10798, which contains the rules and regulations on the resumption of the system of continuing registration of Voters.
