Ang Probinsyano Partylist Representative Alfred Delos Santos urged to prioritize a bill that allows the LGBTQIA+ people to enter into a spousal union with the person they want to spend the rest of their lives with.

According to Delos Santos, passing this bill will amend the family code of the Philippines. He also added that the amendments include gender inclusivity, recognition of the same-sex union, and protection to all forms of union.

Despite the prioritization of passing this bill, Delos Santos still respects the sanctity and the marriage tradition of the Catholic church and other religious churches.

On the other note, the bill, according to Delos Santos, will propose to exclude religious and indigenous laws, customs, and traditions.

“It’s about time that we share with them the rights and protections that belong to everyone. After all, there are few things more beautiful than genuine love shared between two people and it is only fitting that everyone be allowed to experience such beauty freely, proudly, and deeply.” Delos Santos emphasized.

Last senate hearing, Senator Robin Padilla also proposed a bill for a same-sex union as he believes that everyone has a freedom to love, despite their different genders.
