Naglabas ng P2,021,895,000 ang Department of Budget and Management (DBM) sa Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth) para pondohan ang insurance premium ng mga mahihirap nitong miyembro.
Ayon sa pahayag ng ahensya, inaprubahan ni Budget Secretary Amenah Pangandaman ang Special Allotment Release Order (SARO) na saklaw ang natitirang 673,965 indigent members sa ilalim ng National Household Targeting System for Poverty Reduction (NHTS-PR) para sa Enero hanggang Disyembre 2022.
“We are happy that before this year ends, we were able to cover the remaining subsidy for the health premiums of our kababayans. This is our way of showing that the DBM supports President Marcos Jr.’s goal of providing affordable and inclusive health care for all Filipinos,” aniya.
Kinuha ang pondo sa built-in appropriation sa ilalim ng PhilHealth National Health Insurance Program para sa fiscal year 2022, ayon sa ahensya.
Naglabas na ang DBM ng P79.93 bilyon sa pamamagitan ng tatlong magkakahiwalay na SARO. Ito ay para sa billings sa Enero hanggang Disyembre 2022.
Ang bilyon-bilyong pondo ay saklaw ang health insurance premiums ng 21,161,308 indirect contributors.
“Maganda po ang hangarin ng National Health Insurance Program. That is why we made sure po that the program will have a continuous fund for next year. In fact, for fiscal year 2023, the DBM has allocated over P100 billion for its implementation,” sabi ni Pangandaman.
