President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. has named the new general manager and board members of the Philippine Reclamation Authority (PRA).
Cesar Siador Jr. was designated as general manager and chief executive officer of the PRA, based on the list of newly appointed officials released by the Presidential Communications Office on its official Facebook page late Friday night
He was also tapped as a member of PRA’s Board of Directors.
Siador served as regional director of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources’ Environmental Management Bureau.
Marcos also appointed Alexander Lopez and Anthony Peter Crisologo as board members of the state-run reclamation agency.
The PRA, formerly Public Estates Authority, was created under Presidential Decree 1084 issued on Feb. 4, 1977 to serve as the clearinghouse for all reclamation projects in the country.
It was designated as the agency primarily responsible for integrating, coordinating, and directing all reclamation projects on behalf of the national government.
The PRA also has the power and authority to develop and dispose of public lands; enter into contracts and loan agreements with private, public, or foreign entities; and exercise the right to eminent domain in the name of the Republic of the Philippines. (PNA)
