Hindi Naglalakwatsa! House Leaders Dinepensahan Ang Mga Byahe ni PBBM

Mabilis na dinepensahan ng liderato ng Kamara si Pangulong Bongbong Marcos sa panibagong banat ni dating Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte, na sinabing nagpapakasasa lamang siya sa mga byahe sa labas ng bansa.

Sa isang press conference, iginiit nina House Deputy Majority Leader Janette Garin at Anakalusugan Party-list Rep. Ray Reyes na ang mga byahe ni Marcos ay mahalaga upang mapalakas ang relasyon ng Pilipinas sa ibang bansa.

“Ang globalization ngayon is not a desire. It’s already a need,” ayon kay Garin. “If you don’t liaise and talk to other countries, if you don’t partner and foster relationship with other countries, mas lalo kang maiiwan.”

Bilang sagot sa mga komento ni Duterte, hinimok din niya ang balance perspective at binabanggit ang pangangailangang tugunan ang mga hamon pagkatapos ng pandemya at unahin ang kapakanan ng bansa kaysa sa pampulitikang diskurso.

“I believe maybe it was a joke out of the former President’s mouth or if he was serious maybe it’s a political statement. I think politics should be left behind for the moment,” dagdag ng mambabatas. “Madali lang kasi magbintang at mahirap na palaging sumasagot ‘yung nakasabak sa trabaho.”

“On one side, you will have all the time to criticize the current administration. On the other side naman, itong mga [nasa kasalukuyang] administrasyon kaysa gugulin mo or ubusin mo ‘yung panahon mo para sagutin ito, mas gugustuhin mong magtrabaho na lang ng magtrabaho,” aniya.

Smantala, pinuri naman ni Reyes si Marcos na “chief salesman” ng bansa at binigyang-diin ang kanyang tungkulin sa pagpapakita ng kahandaan ng Pilipinas para sa global engagement. Binanggit niya ang mainit na pagtanggap kay Marcos sa ibang bansa at ang positibong epekto nito sa diplomatic relations ng Pilipinas.

“We support him to ensure that our product, which is the Philippines, is presented in the best possible light,” giit ng mambabatas.
