MAKAKALABOSO? Graft Charges Laban Kay Mayor Guo Isinampa Ng DILG

Nagsampa na ng graft charges ang Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) laban kay Bamban, Tarlac Mayor Alice Guo, dahil sa pagkakasangkot niya sa isang Philippine Offshore Gaming Operator (POGO).

Inanunsyo ni DILG Undersecretary Juan Victor Llamas na ang kaso ay isinampa sa Office of the Ombudsman noong Mayo 24, ayon sa mga report ng GMA News Online at Inquirer.net.

Sinabi ni Llamas ang kaso ay nag-ugat sa mga umano’y iregularidad na nakapalibot sa isang permit na ibinigay ng Bamban local government sa Hongsheng Gaming Technology Inc..

Ang kontrobersiyang nakapalibot kay Guo ay lumutang sa imbestigasyon ng Senado noong Mayo 22, 2024, nang ibinuyag ni Senador Risa Hontiveros ang diumano’y kaugnayan ni Guo sa mga Chinese na “kriminal” na nagpapatakbo ng mga POGO hub sa Bamban.

Nagsimula namang makialam sa kaso ang DILG noong Abril 5, 2024, matapos nitong ianunsyo na may binuo itong seven-man task force upang imbestigahan ang mga paratang kay Guo. Ang task force ay nagsumite ng kanilang ulat sa Ombudsman noong Mayo 17, 2024, na nagsiwalat ng mga nakakagambalang serious illegal acts.

Matatandaang sinalakay ng mga awtoridad ang isang complex na pinamamahalaan ng Hongsheng Technology Inc. noong 2023, kung saan natuklasan ang diumano’y kaugnayan ni Guo sa nasabing POGO hub.
