“This decision comes as part of our ongoing commitment to providing our guests and colleagues with the best possible experience,” pahayag ng Accor, ang kasalukuyang humahawak sa Sofitel.

Naalarma si Hontiveros at iba na ring organisasyon tulad ng National Union of Workers in Hotel and Restaurant and Allied Industries (NUWHRAIN) sa nasabing isyu at iminungkahing pag-aralan itong mabuti lalo na’t maraming Pilipino manggagawa ang mawawalan ng trabaho.

“The impending closure of Sofitel Philippine Plaza has raised significant concerns among its employees and their representatives. We call for greater transparency from PPHI and demand answers regarding the true reasons behind this decision,” saad ni niya.

“We must listen to the employees’ legitimate concerns. Hindi ito pwedeng isawalang-bahala lang.”

Kaugnay nito, umaaksyon na aniya ang Department of Labor and Employment at ang National Conciliation and Mediation Board upang magkaroon ng hearing upang mapag-usapan ang mga concerns sa isyu na ito.
