WALANG-KAWALA! Guo, Pinutakte Ng Patung-Patong Na Kaso

Haharap din sa non-bailable qualified human trafficking charges si dismissed Bamban, Tarlac Mayor Alice Guo at iba pa. Ang mga kaso ay isasampa ng Department of Justice (DOJ) sa appropriate Regional Trial Court (RTC) ngayong linggong ito, ayon kay Justice Undersecretary Nicholas Ty.

Sina Guo at ang kanyang mga umano’y kasabwat ay sasampahan ng kaso dahil sa kanilang umano’y paglabag sa Republic Act No. 9208 or the Anti-Trafficking in Persons Act of 2003, as amended. Ayon pa kay Ty, nilabag din nila Guo and Section 4(l) of RA 11862, o ang Expanded Anti-Trafficking in Persons Act of 2022. Sakop ng huli ang mga taong involved sa pag “organize, provide financial support, or direct other persons to commit the offenses defined as acts of trafficking.”

Patong-patong na kaso na ang kinakaharap ni Guo kasama na ang isang graft complaint na ngayon ay nakasampa na sa Valenzuela RTC, isang quo warranto case sa Manila RTC, isang birth certificate cancellation petition sa Tarlac RTC, misrepresentation case sa Commission on Elections at deportation case sa Bureau of Immigration. Bukod dito, may kakaharapin din siyang tax evasion case.

Nagpabatid naman ng paghanga si Justice Secretary Jesus Crispin Remulla sa Supreme Court (SC) matapos pumayag ang huli na ilipat sa mga korte sa National Capital Region (NCR) ang mga kasong human trafficking na kinasasangkutan ng mga Philippine offshore gaming operators o POGO sa Bamban, Tarlac.

“I commend the SC for their unwavering commitment to safeguard the laws of the land in order to avoid the miscarriage of justice, [and] the DOJ vows that we will prosecute these cases with burning resolve and integrity,” saad ni Remulla sa isang statement.

Matatandaang Abril 22 ng taong ito nang sumulat si Remulla kay Chief Justice Alexander Gesmundo at hiniling na protektahan ng SC ang national interest ng bansa sa kadahilanang high-profile ang mga kasong isinampa. Ayon kay Remulla ang mga kasong ito “exceed local boundaries which affect national security and general policies.”

Sa pagpayag ng SC, ang mga kasong criminal laban kina Ma The Pong, Wang Weili, Lang Xu at iba pang mga Chinese POGO workers ay nasa kamay na ng Pasig RTC mula Branch 66 ng Capas RTC sa Tarlac.
