BAWAL UMEKSENA! 36K Pulis Mahigpit Na Bantay Sa Mainit Na COC Filing

Inanunsyo ng Philippine National Police (PNP) na magde-deploy sila ng 36,000 pulis upang siguruhin ang kaligtasan at kaayusan sa filing ng Certificates of Candidacy (COC) para sa May 2025 midterm elections.

Nagsimula noong Oktubre 1 at magtatapos sa Oktubre 8 ang filing ng COCs. Ayon kay PNP Spokesperson Co. Jean Fajardo magiging mas mahigpit ang seguridad, lalo na sa mga strategic areas na may mga checkpoint.

“Hindi na lamang ‘yung mga kandidato ang babantayan diyan, siyempre ‘yung mga kaanak pati kanilang mga supporters gaya ng sinabi natin na kapag local elections mas mainit yan sa national election kaya yan ‘yung tinitingnan diyan,” saad ni Fajardo. 

“The Chief PNP (Gen. Rommel Francisco Marbil) also wants to keep a close watch on potential PAGs (Private Armed Groups) which can be used to sow violence. The order of our Chief PNP is to make sure that these potential PAGs won’t be used especially at this early stage of filing of candidacy,” dagdag pa niya. 

Pinaalalahanan ni PNP Chief Gen. Rommel Francisco Marbil na tutukan din ang posibleng paggamit ng mga Private Armed Groups (PAGs) para makalikha ng kaguluhan, lalo na sa filing period. Kasama rito ang mahigpit na pagbabantay ng National Capital Region Police Office na magtatalaga ng 1,389 pulis sa Metro Manila para sa crowd control at traffic management.

Sa ilalim ng Comelec Resolution No. 11045, pinapayagan lamang ang mga kandidato na magsama ng tatlo hanggang apat na tao sa COC filing upang mapanatili ang kaayusan.
