PLAKDA DAW! PNP Sinalag Si Duterte Sa Akusasyon Ng ‘Crime Wave’

Hindi pinalampas ng Philippine National Police (PNP) ang akusasyon ni dating pangulong Rodrigo Duterte na tumataas ang krimen sa ilalim ng Marcos administration. Sa isang statement, idiniin ng PNP na bumaba ang crime rates sa bansa, base na rin sa pinakabagong datos, patunay na effective ang mga strategy at proactive measures ng kapulisan.

Ayon sa datos ng PNP, mula July 1, 2022 hanggang July 28, 2024, bumaba ng 61.87% ang index crimes, mula 217,830 sa unang dalawang taon ni Duterte, patungo sa 83,059 sa unang dalawang taon ni Marcos.

Sa katunayan, ang mga kaso ng murder, homicide, physical injuries, at rape ay bumagsak ng 55.69%. Ang mga kasong may kinalaman sa property crimes, gaya ng robbery at car theft, ay bumaba rin ng 66.81%, mula 124,799 patungong 41,420. 

Samantala, ang crime clearance efficiency naman ay umangat ng 27.13% habang ang crime solution efficiency rate naman ay umakyat ng 10.28%.

Pinasinungalingan din ni Justice Secretary Jesus Crispin Remulla ang mga pahayag ng dating pangulo.

“With utmost respect for former president Duterte’s leadership, we believe that his perception of an escalating crime rate does not reflect the reality supported by concrete data,” aniya.

“The peace and order situation remains a top priority for the Marcos administration and we are committed to assuring the Filipino people that our nation is on a path toward greater stability and security,” dagdag ng kalihim.

Hindi rin nagpahuli si dating Interior Secretary Benhur Abalos, na idiniin na higit na bumaba ang crime situation ngayong panahon ni Pangulong Bongbong Marcos at may datos na magpapatunay dito. Idinagdag pa niya na nakatutok ngayon ang administrasyon sa rehabilitasyon ng mga drug dependents, na siyang nakapagpababa sa mga casualty ng kanilang anti-drug operations.
