WALANG SAGRADO! Bordado: ‘Duterte, Dapat Managot Sa Madugong Drug War’

Kailangang panagutin si dating Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte sa mga umano’y extrajudicial killings (EJKs) na nangyari noong pinatupad nito ang kanyang madugong war on drugs. Ito ang pahayag ni House Assistant Minority Leader Gabriel Bordado Jr. matapos aminin ng dating pangulo sa quad committee hearing ng Kamara na iniutos niya ang mga EJKs at may mga personal na ring pinatay bilang mayor ng Davao City.

Sa harap ng komite hearing, pinaalalahanan ni Bordado ang mga kapwa mambabatas na walang sinuman, kahit pa si Duterte, ang dapat makalusot sa batas. Dagdag pa niya may tungkulin silang tiyakin ang hustisya para sa mga umano’y biktima ng war on drugs ng dating administrasyon.

“The law must be respected at all times. Our duty as public servants is to ensure that justice prevails, regardless of one’s position or past actions,” saad ng kongresista. 

Pinuri rin ni Bordado ang kanyang mga kasamahan sa quad committee—binubuo ng mga komite sa dangerous drugs,public order and safety, human rights, at public accounts—sa kanilang dedikasyon para sa hustisya at transparency sa kabila ng kontrobersyal na pahayag ng dating pangulo.

Ang pag-amin ni Duterte ay nagdala ng mas matinding pagsisiyasat sa kanyang anti-drug campaign, na ayon sa datos ng gobyerno ay nagresulta sa mahigit 6,000 pagkamatay, ngunit pinaniniwalaan ng mga human rights group na mas mataas pa ang bilang.

“We must not let these investigations falter, nor the voices of those seeking justice go unheard,” ani Bordado. “It is our duty as public servants to ensure that the truth is revealed, justice is served, and that we work together to prevent such abuses from happening again,” pahayag pa niya.
