Sinabi ni Zambales Representative Jay Khonghun na ang kontrobersyal na pahayag ni Vice President Sara Duterte ukol sa umano’y “assassin” na tinarget sina pangulong Ferdinand Marcos Jr., Unang Ginang Liza Marcos, at House Speaker Martin Romualdez ay maaaring ituring na impeachable offense.

“Ang mga binitawang salita ay seryosong usapin na maaaring magdulot ng impeachment,” aniya sa isang press conference kamakailan. Gayunpaman, nilinaw niya na wala pang pormal na diskusyon tungkol dito sa House of Representatives dahil sa kasalukuyang dami ng trabaho ng mga mambabatas.

Patuloy ding iniimbestigahan ang umano’y maling paggamit ng P612.5 milyong confidential at intelligence funds ng Office of the Vice President at Department of Education noong 2022 at 2023. Ayon kay 1-Rider Partylist Rep. Rodge Gutierrez, kung mapapatunayang may personal na pakinabang mula sa pondong ito, maaari itong mauwi sa kasong plunder, lalo na’t lampas P50 milyon ang nasabing halaga.

Ang huling hearing ng House Committee on Good Government and Public Accountability ay nagbunyag na ang mga pondo ay napunta sa mga security officer sa halip na sa bonded special disbursing officers (SDOs) tulad nina Gina Acosta at Eduard Fajarda, alinsunod umano sa direktiba ni Duterte. 

“Ang paglipat ng pondo sa mga hindi otorisadong tao ay malinaw na paglabag,” ani Manila Rep. Joel Chua, chair ng good government committee.

Layunin ng komite na makumpleto ang imbestigasyon bago ang Christmas break. Ayon kay Deputy Majority Leader Paolo Ortega, “Ang goal namin dito sa Committee on Good Government saka sa Quad Comm, siyempre ang goal namin matapos na iyong hearings at investigation para ‘yung policy recommendations, bagong batas, amendments at possible findings natin ma-submit sa mga kaukulang ahensya. Iyan ang number one priority ng committees.”
