Idiniin ng liderato ng Kamara na ang 2025 national budget ay dumaan sa masusing proseso alinsunod sa Konstitusyon at nilagdaan nang walang anumang iregularidad. Ito ang naging pahayag ni Deputy Majority Leader at La Union First District Rep. Paolo Ortega nitong Huwebes, matapos niyang ibasura ang alegasyon ni dating Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte ukol sa umano’y “blank appropriations” sa budget.
“Former President Duterte’s allegations of blank appropriations in the 2025 budget are pure disinformation. This is a deliberate effort to mislead the public and manipulate the budget process to bring back the confidential funds previously allocated to the Office of the Vice President (OVP),” ani Ortega.
Tinawag ni Ortega ang pagpapakalat ng maling impormasyon bilang taktika ng internet trolls upang manipulahin ang opinyon ng publiko.
“Lumang style na ng mga internet troll ang magpakalat ng kasinungalingan. Pero ngayon, mas maalam na ang mga tao kung alin ang totoo at alin ang peke,” dagdag pa niya.
Masinop At Transparente Ang Budget
Binanggit ng mambabatas na ang 2025 budget ay sumasalamin sa fiscal transparency at accountability. Inihayag niyang malaki ang ibinawas sa pondo ng OVP, mula P2 bilyon noong 2024 hanggang P733 milyon sa 2025.
“Let’s set the record straight – there are no blank allocations in the budget. The reductions made were necessary to ensure that government funds are properly utilized and directed to priority programs that benefit the Filipino people,” paliwanag ni Ortega.
Iginiit niyang sinusubukan lamang ni Duterte sirain ang kredibilidad ng budget upang maibalik ang confidential funds sa pamamagitan ng reenacted budget.
“This sudden concern for budget integrity is laughable, especially given the unresolved corruption scandals during Duterte’s term, such as the Pharmally fiasco,” aniya. “This is nothing more than a desperate ploy to regain control over public funds.”
Babala Laban Sa Maling Impormasyon
Nanawagan si Ortega sa publiko na maging mapanuri laban sa anumang pagtatangka na gamitin ang budget process para sa pansariling interes o political gain.
“Ang administrasyong ito ay nakatuon sa tamang paggastos at walang itinatagong pondo. Huwag tayong magpalinlang sa mga nagpapakalat ng kasinungalingan,” aniya.
Dagdag pa niya, “This administration is focused on progress, and we will not let baseless accusations derail our efforts to provide quality services to Filipinos. The Filipino people deserve a government that works with integrity and transparency, not one that thrives on lies and deception.”
Samantala, itinanggi rin ng Malacañang ang mga alegasyon ukol sa “blank appropriations.” Binanggit nilang ang 2025 budget, na may kabuuang 4,057 pahina sa dalawang volume, ay sumailalim sa masusing pagsusuri ng Kongreso at ng mga propesyonal mula sa Department of Budget and Management.
