Diretsahang tinanggihan ni Pangulong Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. ang panibagong panawagan ng kanyang dating executive secretary na si Atty. Vic Rodriguez na sumailalim siya sa hair follicle drug test.

“No. Why should I do that? What is he saying public trust, public office. Public office has nothing to do with the follicle test,” buwelta ng Pangulo sa isang ambush interview nitong Biyernes.

Muling inungkat ni Rodriguez ang prinsipyong “public office is a public trust” sa kanyang panawagan, ngunit agad itong sinupalpal ni Marcos. Giit niya, kung totoo ang mga paratang ni Rodriguez, bakit pa ito nagtrabaho para sa kanya?

“Wala namang koneksyon ‘yung sinasabi niya. He has always had that weakness when he was still working for me. If you believe in what he was saying, why did he work for me,” dagdag pa ng Pangulo.

Matatandaang noong nakaraang taon, una nang hinamon ni Rodriguez si Marcos na sumailalim sa hair follicle drug test upang tuldukan na ang mga haka-haka tungkol sa umano’y paggamit nito ng iligal na droga.

Si Rodriguez ay matagal nang naging chief of staff at tagapagsalita ni Marcos bago siya itinalaga bilang Executive Secretary noong Mayo 2022. Gayunman, noong Oktubre ng parehong taon, tuluyan itong bumitaw sa administrasyon, aniya, upang magkaroon ng mas maraming oras sa kanyang pamilya.
