Mas pinatibay ng House of Representatives ang kanilang paghahanda sa nalalapit na impeachment trial ni Vice President Sara Duterte matapos bumuo ng isang Impeachment Secretariat upang magbigay ng teknikal at administratibong suporta sa prosekusyon.

Sa pamamagitan ng Memorandum Order 19-1006, pormal na inatasan ni House Secretary General Reginald Velasco ang pagbuo ng naturang sekretarya upang tiyakin ang maayos at episyenteng proseso ng paglilitis.

“The House Secretariat plays a vital role in ensuring the orderly conduct of legislative proceedings, including impeachment trials. This directive ensures that the prosecution team has access to essential logistical, research, and documentation support to facilitate a smooth and efficient trial process,” pahayag ni Velasco nitong Biyernes.

Kasama sa Impeachment Secretariat ang mga tauhan mula sa mahahalagang departamento ng Kongreso, tulad ng Office of the Secretary General, Office of the Sergeant-at-Arms, Legislative Operations Department, at Legal Affairs Department.

Mahigpit Na Tungkulin Ng Impeachment Secretariat

Ang pangunahing tungkulin ng grupo ay ang plenary support, legal research, records management, stenographic transcription, information technology, security, at administrative coordination.

Pinanindigan ni Velasco na susunod sa mahigpit na patakaran at etikal na pamantayan ang mga tauhang kabilang sa sekretarya.

“This is a routine function aligned with our constitutional duty. The House Secretariat remains neutral and professional in fulfilling its mandate,” diin niya.

Para sa mas malinaw na accountability, ang lahat ng nakatalagang personnel ay kailangang dumaan sa HousePass monitoring system, at ang kanilang iskedyul ay itatakda ng kanilang opisina.

“As the impeachment process moves forward, the Impeachment Secretariat will continue to provide the necessary support to uphold the integrity of the proceedings,” dagdag ni Velasco.
