The Government Service Insurance System (GSIS) on Thursday temporarily closed its main office in Pasay City and shifted to a work-from-home arrangement following the gunfire incident at the nearby Senate building.
“In view of the ongoing security incident near the Senate area in Pasay City, GSIS Pasay City has been placed under a work-from-home arrangement today,” the state pension fund said in an advisory.
“The GSIS Pasay City building is closed, and no physical transaction will be accommodated today,” the advisory read.
The Senate complex, owned and leased by GSIS to the Senate, is adjacent to the state pension fund’s main office building.
The agency said the move was intended to ensure the safety of employees, members, pensioners, and visitors.
GSIS advised members and pensioners to continue using online platforms for transactions.
“GSIS members and pensioners are encouraged to use the GSIS TOUCH app for their transactions,” it said.
Clients requiring over-the-counter services were advised to proceed to the GSIS Quezon City Branch on Elliptical Road in Diliman.
The advisory came after heightened security tensions around the Senate linked to the supposed International Criminal Court warrant against Senator Ronald “Bato” dela Rosa, who is now under Senate custody, and the expected impeachment proceedings against Vice President Sara Z. Duterte. (PNA)
