The Commission on Elections (Comelec) on Wednesday proclaimed the new representative of Pinoy Workers party-list (PL).

In a simple ceremony held at the session hall of the poll body’s main office, the Comelec en banc, sitting as the National Board of Canvassers, proclaimed Karl Josef Legazpi as the representative of Pinoy Workers party-list.

He succeeded the post of its first nominee, Franz Vincent Legazpi, who has resigned.

Karl Joseph was not included in the list of 10 nominees of the group.

But Comelec chairperson George Garcia said the party-list has expelled all the nominees of the organization after some of them reportedly established a new party-list while others have become officers of another group.

“They expelled the nominees because they had created a new PL and became officers of another PL,” he said.

However, the poll body chief did not mention the identities of the nominees and the names of the party-list groups.
