BAGONG HEPE NG DDB! Valenzuela Itinalaga Ni PBBM Laban Sa Droga

Inanunsyo ng Malacañang ang bagong liderato sa Dangerous Drugs Board (DDB) matapos italaga ni Pangulong Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. si Oscar Valenzuela bilang bagong pinuno nito!

Sa isang Facebook post nitong Biyernes, kinumpirma ng Presidential Communications Office (PCO) ang appointment ni Valenzuela bilang chairperson at permanenteng miyembro ng DDB, batay sa listahan ng mga bagong itinalagang opisyal ng Pangulo.

Si Valenzuela ang pumalit kay Catalino Cuy, na namuno sa DDB mula pa noong 2018. Alinsunod sa Republic Act 9165 o ang Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, ang DDB ang pangunahing ahensya na bumabalangkas ng mga patakaran at estratehiya upang labanan ang droga sa bansa.

Bilang beteranong opisyal, si Valenzuela ay miyembro ng Philippine Military Academy (PMA) “Marangal” Class of 1974 at nagkaroon ng malawak na karanasan sa serbisyo publiko. Naging Police Assistant Regional Director siya para sa Operations ng Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao at Police Provincial Director ng Ilocos Norte.

Matapos magretiro sa Philippine National Police (PNP), pinangunahan niya ang National Terrorism Prevention Office ng Anti-Terrorism Council Program Management Center at naging chairperson ng Asia Pacific Economic Conference Counter-Terrorism Working Group. Noong 2015, pinamunuan din niya ang delegasyon ng Pilipinas sa White House Summit on Countering Violent Extremism sa Washington D.C.

Bilang dating Undersecretary for Peace and Order ng Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG), sinuportahan niya ang iba’t ibang programa ng gobyerno kontra droga, kabilang ang Anti-Drug Advocacy Program ng Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA).

Iba Pang Bagong Talaga Ni Pangulong Marcos

Bukod kay Valenzuela, muling itinalaga ni Pangulong Marcos si Roberto Manalo bilang non-resident ambassador ng Pilipinas sa Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, at Tajikistan, bukod pa sa pagiging ambassador sa Iran na may hurisdiksyon sa Turkmenistan at Uzbekistan.

Kabilang din sa mga bagong appointee sina Christopher Montero (Indonesia), Elizabeth Te (Laos), at Domingo Nolasco (non-resident ambassador sa Estonia, bukod sa pagiging ambassador sa Finland). Ang tatlo ay kabilang sa 19 na foreign service officials ng Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) na kinumpirma ng Commission on Appointments nitong Martes.

Samantala, inihalal din ni Marcos si Pericles Dacay bilang pinuno ng Philippine Contractors Accreditation Board, habang si Desiderio Apag III ay itinalagang commissioner ng Commission on Higher Education (CHED). Nagtalaga rin siya ng iba pang opisyal sa iba’t ibang ahensya, kabilang sina:

  • Carmela Oracion – Assistant Secretary, Department of Education (DepEd)
  • Brian Mey Tomas – Assistant Secretary, Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG)
  • Jorjette Aquino – Undersecretary, PCO
  • Josef Angelo Martires – Undersecretary, Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR)

Sa Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), hinirang naman sina Warren Miclat bilang undersecretary at Lenard Constantine Serrano bilang assistant secretary.

Kasama rin sa mga bagong opisyal na itinalaga ng Pangulo sina:
