Officials from the Municipality of Bantayan in Cebu has visited La Union to benchmark on the best practices of the provincial government, specifically the best practices of its Provincial Health Office, according to Governor Rafy Ortega-David.
“One of the many things we can be very proud of here in PGLU (Provincial Government of La Union) and that we would like to share to everyone is our pandemic response and recovery projects, programs and activities,” Ortega-David wrote in a Facebook post.
She added that proactive attitude and frequent communication with La Union’s local counterparts were key factors in effectively managing the Covid-19 situation in the province.
The governor of La Union also shared in a separate Facebook post that she led the swearing-in of new Multi-Sectoral Governance Council (MSGC) officers on August 25, 2022.
According to Ortega-David, MSGC is essential in assisting the provincial government in realizing its vision for progress in La Union.
“We look forward to launching projects which will form part of achieving La Union PROBINSYAnihan. Congratulations po to our newly-elected officers!,” she emphasized.
The Council, led by Rev. Brennus H. Paragas, outlined the MSGC’s projects and programs developed to support its agri-tourism strategy, according to a separate Facebook post from the PGLU.
It said the officials and sectoral advisers who would assist initiatives and provide advice to help the province accomplish its vision as well as Ortega-David’s PUSO Agenda were also announced by Paragas.
“With their oath, the Council pledged its advisory role by continuing to support the PGLU Strategic Initiatives to attain its Vision: to be the Heart of Agri-Tourism in Northern Luzon by 2025,” the PGLU stressed.
