Kinumpirma ng Malacañang na ipinagkaloob ni Pangulong Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. ang executive clemency kay dating Iloilo City Mayor Jed Patrick Mabilog.

Ayon kay Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin, ang mga parusa o diskwalipikasyon kaugnay ng administrative case ni Mabilog ay tinanggal na.

“In view of former Iloilo City Mayor Jed Patrick Mabilog’s longstanding commitment to good governance, coupled with awards and recognition received by Iloilo City under his leadership, the President granted Mabilog’s petition for executive clemency in connection with his administrative case, thereby removing the penalties or disabilities resulting from such case,” ayon kay Bersamin.

Matatandaang si Mabilog ay natanggal sa serbisyo noong 2017 dahil sa mga alegasyong misconduct at dishonesty. Siya rin ay isinama sa kontrobersyal na “narcolist” ni dating pangulong Rodrigo Duterte, isang akusasyon na mariin niyang itinanggi.

Wala namang naihain na kaso laban sa kanya kaugnay ng iligal na droga. Gayunpaman, dahil sa takot para sa kanyang kaligtasan, nagdesisyon si Mabilog na magtago sa loob ng pitong taon.

Noong Setyembre 19, 2024, humarap siya sa isang congressional hearing upang linisin ang kanyang pangalan mula sa mga akusasyong may kaugnayan siya sa droga.

Kasong Graft Sa Ombudsman
Sa kasalukuyan, si Mabilog ay nahaharap sa mga kasong graft sa Office of the Ombudsman dahil umano sa pakikialam sa pagbibigay ng kontrata para sa serbisyo ng towing sa isang kumpanyang sinasabing may kinalaman siya at isang dating konsehal ng Iloilo City.
