Kinastigo ni Senador Win Gatchalian ang Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corp. (PAGCOR) matapos magbigay ng mga provisional licence sa mga “high-risk” Philippine offshore gaming operators (POGOs) sa bansa lalo ang mga sinalakay na POGO hub sa Tarlac.

“All of these scenarios were already red flags for Zun Yuan not to operate. The process of approving POGO licences should be made simple: either they are qualified or not and they should be granted or denied a licence based on their qualification. Clearly, Zun Yuan wasn’t qualified from the very start,” aniya.

Sinupalpal ni Gatchalian ang naturang state-owned corporation na ayusin ang kanilang serbisyo para maiwasan ang pagdami ng mga “illegal alien” sa bansa. “Itigil na natin itong kalokohan na ito dahil ginagamit lang ng mga kawatan ang kunwari’y legitimate licence nila para lokohin tayong lahat.”

Aniya, nakakalusot ang mga illegal na POGOs sa bansa dahil hindi kinikilatis ng PAGCOR ang paggawad ng provisional licence sa mga ito.

“Kapag high-risk, hindi na dapat payagan dahil ibig sabihin delikado na ‘yan. At totoo nga, nagtuloy-tuloy pa ang iligal na operasyon nila. Kung walang mga complainant, baka marami pang human trafficking, torture, at mga online scam ang nangyari,” mariing sabi ng mambabatas.

Dismayado ang senador dahil mismong PAGCOR umano ang lumalabag sa patakaran nito na payagan ang pagpasok ng mga ‘illegal aliens’ sa bansa lalo na ang mga POGO. “You are violating your own guidelines and that’s why all of these crimes are being committed.”

Matatandaang isa si Sen. Gatchalian sa mga senador na aktibo sa pagsugpo sa dumaraming POGOs kaugnay ng kahina-hinalang bilang ng mga Chinese na nakakapasok sa bansa.
