The Bureau of Customs (BOC) – Port of Clark continues to sustain high monthly collection for the fourth month since January this year.

A report on Tuesday said the BOC-Port of Clark recorded an actual collection of PHP299.62 million in April as against its assigned target of PHP215.45 million — a surplus of PHP84.17 million or 39.07 percent.

District collector Alexandra Lumontad said in a statement the collection target was met as early as April 22 based on the Daily Collection Report of the BOC-Port of Clark’s Collection Division.

She said April’s actual collection is 109.60 percent higher compared to the actual collection of the same month last year.

The district’s positive performance can be attributed to its strict implementation of valuation, assessment rules, and regulations.

Lumontad said the BOC-Port of Clark, with the collaborative effort of its men and women, has exceeded its collection target since January this year and is expected to be consistent in improving its revenue collection effort in the coming months.

The BOC-Port of Clark remains committed to hitting its monthly collection target and improving customs service through its various initiatives and programs under the Performance Governance System guided by the leadership of Commissioner Rey Leonardo Guerrero,” she said. (PNA)
