Senator and Chair of the Senate Committee on Health, Christopher “Bong” Go, showed support for the proposed ‘Bakuna Bubble’ and the initiative of several business owners on giving incentives to fully vaccinated individuals. Go believes that these initiatives can help boost the economy from the income of business owners who were greatly affected due to the lockdowns being imposed during the pandemic.

“Pag-aralan dapat natin nang mabuti ang pagbibigay ng insentibo sa mga bakunado, tulad ng mas maluwag na mga patakaran na ligtas pa rin. Maaaring pwede sila lumabas, makapagtrabaho at makagalaw nang mas konting restrictions pero compliant pa rin sa minimum health standards,” he said in a statement on Thursday, September 16.

Go extended support to loosen some of the COVID-19 restrictions as long as minimum health standards are still practiced. “Subalit dahan-dahan nating gawin ito. Huwag nating biglaing buksan lahat kaagad, baka naman tumaas ang bilang ng mga kaso at mahihirapan ang healthcare system,” he said, as a reminder to still practice caution because the virus is still around.

Meanwhile, small business owners and franchisees have also declared support for Entrepreneurship and Go Negosyo founder Joey Concepcion’s proposal for the introduction of the ‘Bakuna Bubble’, after thousands of businesses issued a manifesto lamenting the financial crisis as a result of the national government’s lockdowns. They believe that this proposed ‘Bakuna Bubble’ can help resuscitate the economy.

As of September 13, the Philippines has already administered a total of 39,142,205 COVID-19 doses and a rate of 395,704 jabs a day.
