Senator Ramon “Bong” Revilla Jr. issued a statement on Wednesday, November 15, denying allegations that he was apprehended for using the EDSA carousel busway, describing the report as “malicious”.

According to Ret. Col. Edison “Bong” Nebrija, the Special Operations Chief of the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) Task Force, the convoy of Senator Bong Revilla was reportedly caught using the EDSA Busway

However, the Senator stands firm and denies the allegations, stating, “There is absolutely no truth to the malicious report that I was apprehended using the EDSA carousel busway,” Revilla said in an interview.

“My daily commute is from the south to the Senate and there is no possibility I will be on EDSA in Mandaluyong. When attending to official functions in the north, I take the skyway from and back to the south,” he added.

Revilla has expressed his fury over the news and demanded a recall of the MMDA’s 2024 budget approval due to the incident. He further stated that Nebrija should resign because of this incident.

“Humarap ka sa Senado. Kung talagang nagkasala kami ticketan mo kami, ipakulong mo kami. Pero yung ganyan sisiraan mo kami, mali yata yan. Magresign ka na!”. Revilla said.

Nebrija released a statement expressing his apologies, clarifying that he was not present during the incident and that it was solely reported to him.

During a press conference today, MMDA Chairman Don Artes and Nebrija apologized to Sen. Bong. However, Nebrija is currently under preventive suspension due to the ongoing investigation.
