BUKING! Disciplinary Case Sa Mga Abogado Ni Guo, Ikinasa!

Pananagutin ng Department of Justice (DOJ) ang mga abogado ni dimissed Bamban Mayor Alice Guo matapos nila umanong maghanda ng mga pekeng dokumento para kay Guo.

Ayon kay Justice Undersecretary Nicholas Ty, magsasampa sila ng disciplinary case sa Korte Suprema laban sa mga abogado ni Guo.

“We will hold the lawyers on Alice Guo’s legal team accountable. It’s not just the notary; this includes the lawyers who appeared during the preliminary investigation and her spokesperson because this counteraffidavit is really different,” ani Ty sa isang panayam. 

Tinukoy ni Ty ang counter-affidavit ni Guo na nakakabit sa isang mosyon na humihiling sa DOJ na muling buksan ang preliminary investigation sa kasong qualified human trafficking na isinampa laban sa kanya ng Philippine National Police at Presidential Anti-Organized Crime Commission noong Hunyo. 

Ipinagwalang-bahala ni Guo ang lahat ng tatlong preliminary investigations na ginanap noong Hulyo 5, Hulyo 22, at Agosto 6. Nakumpirma na nakaalis siya ng bansa noong Hulyo 18 ng hindi namamalayan ng Bureau of Immigration. Setyembre 3 ng naaresto naman siya sa Indonesia.

Subalit, sa pamamagitan ng kanyang mga abogado, nakapag-file si Guo ng motion na muling buksan ang kaso gamit ang counter-affidavit na notarized ng abugadong si Elmer Galicia noong Agosto 14, kahit pa Hulyo pa lang ay wala na siya sa bansa.

Ayon kay Ty bagamat na-dismiss ang motion, na-delay ng counter-affidavit ni Guo ang kaso.

“For us, there’s no doubt that the counteraffidavit is fake. Lawyers shouldn’t engage in such practices because it might set a precedent for other lawyers to disregard legal proceedings here,” saad ni Ty.

Inanunsyo din ng opisyal ng DOJ official na ang kasalukuyan at anumang mga hinaharap na kaso ni Guo ukol sa human trafficking ay susuriin sa Pasig Regional Trial Court.
