The Office of the Vice President, the United States Agency for International Development, and Philippine Business for Education has launched a P17-million partnership to support free technical-vocational skills and employability training for at least 1,000 unemployed and out-of-school youth in the country.
“Maski kayo po ay walang ginawa kung hindi labanan ang gobyerno, Pilipino pa rin po kayo at may obligasyon pa rin kaming isalba kayo kung kayo’y magkakasakit. Make it easier for everyone po, huwag pong magtipun-tipon."
During the surprise visit, VP Leni was able to observe the operations of the hub—from access to computers, printers, and other gadgets and equipment to free internet connection. Trained volunteer tutors are also present to assist the children with their lessons.
Pasig City Mayor Vico Sotto accompanies Vice President Leni Robredo as they meet the volunteer tutors for the hub, as well as one of the parents and her children who have signed up for this assistance.
"Ang maganda po sa ating mga LGUs po ngayon ay talagang 'pagka kailangan nila ng tulong ay talaga pong tumatawag po sila... They are working hard para at least ma-manage po ang ating — ang ating ano po ang ating tinatawag nating ‘yung mga kaso."
"Whether or not it’s in the budget, we have a financing scheme already in place. Kung mayroon na po tayong mabibili ngayon, makakabili na tayo ngayon kasi hindi naman po problema ang financing."
“We’ll look for the money. Hindi naman marami but ang priority natin dito is really medical treatment, medical attention. Babayaran to in a short while, do not worry.”
ROQUE: “Hindi naman po ganoon kamahal ang estimate natin sa bakuna. Ang estimate po ni Secretary Dominguez, USD10 per dose at kinakailangan dalawang dosage so USD20 per person."
