In her petition, Deputy Minority Leader and ACT Party-list Rep. France Castro said the ruling by the city prosecutors against her complaint "undermines efforts to address online threats, contributes to normalizing violent rhetoric, and erodes public trust in the legal system's ability to handle explicit threats from those in power, effectively deterring dissent."

The Committee on Public Order and Safety cited former Philippine National Police-Southern Police District (PNP-SPD) director Brig. Gen. Roderick Mariano and former SPD comptroller head Col. Charlie Cabradilla in contempt upon motion of ACT-CIS Party-list Rep. Erwin Tulfo.

“This marks a significant step towards the much-awaited constitutional amendments. As Speaker of the House of Representatives, I await with great anticipation the outcomes of these Senate deliberations,” pahayag ni House Speaker Martin Romualdez.

In a statement on Friday, House Majority Leader Manuel Jose Dalipe, Lakas-CMD executive vice president, said the lawmakers signed a manifesto supporting Romualdez's leadership to uphold the principles of democracy.

Bagong Henerasyon Party-list Rep. Bernadette Herrera said the gaps in the implementation of Republic Act (RA) 9994 (the Expanded Senior Citizens Act of 2010) and RA 10754 (an Act Expanding the Benefits and Privileges of PWDs) could be resolved faster by tweaking the implementing rules and regulations (IRR) through a joint memorandum circular or order.

According to a statement issued by the House on Thursday, House Committee on Justice chair Juliet Marie Ferrer and House Inter-parliamentary Relations and Diplomacy chair Glona Labadlabad made the commitment during their meeting with United Nations Special Rapporteur (UNSR) Irene Khan at the House of Representatives on Wednesday.

Speaker Martin Romualdez on Wednesday said the House of Representatives is “heartened” by reports that the Senate will commence hearings on Resolution of Both Houses No. 6 next week, saying the move marks a “significant step” towards the much-awaited constitutional amendments.
