Senator Imee Marcos has called on the government to prevent pork importers from taking over local market supply and pushing Filipino producers out of business.
Senator Imee Marcos has urged the Department of Agriculture and Department of Trade and Industry to boost the transport and delivery of local agricultural produce before resorting to importation and price controls amid rising food costs.
“Pag nagtuloy-tuloy ito, mas dadami ang gutom, mas tataas ang malnutrisyon, at mas sari-sari ang sakit ang mararanasan ng mga Pilipino,” says Cabatbat.
Senator Grace Poe made this call because galunggong in wet markets has been extremely high in the past few days and has become barely affordable to ordinary consumers.
