More than 750,000 Filipinos aged 15 years and above have applied as voters for the Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections (BSKE) on December 5. Among the 757,316 applicants, 473,565 are aged 15 to 17 years, 250,529 of whom are female while 223,036 are male.

Voter registration has reached a new high with 1,013,805 applications since July 4. 

Registrants aged 18 to 30 years reached 242,633, with 127,307 male and 115,326 female applicants.

Region 7 (Central Visayas) and Region IV-A (Calabarzon) are the leading regions for youth voter registration aged 15 to 17 years and 18 to 30 years, respectively.

The poll body said that it has recorded 133,829 applicants for transfer from other cities/municipalities; and 32,466 applicants for transfer from within the same city/municipality.

It also logged 5,650 applications for transfer with reactivation; 1,941 applications for transfer with reactivation and correction of entries; and 6,922 applications for transfer with correction of entries.

A total of 38,832 applied for reactivation while 8,961 applied for reactivation with correction of entries.

A total of 25,4278 have also applied for change of names/correction of entries while 33 have applied for inclusion of record in the Book of Voters.

Comelec also received 13 applications for reinstatement of name in the List of Voters, as well as 2,364 applications for transfer from overseas voting to local.

The nationwide voter registration period is set to end on July 23.
