Dahil Sa Power Outages, Mga Senador Nagpapatawag Ng Audit Sa NGCP

Ilang senador ang nanawagan ng imbestigasyon at komprehensibong audit sa National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP) sa gitna ng mga kamakailang power outages sa bansa. 

Hinimok ni Senate Deputy Minority Leader Risa Hontiveros, ang Committee on Energy na tingnan ang performance ng NGCP sa nakalipas na ilang taon. Binanggit din niya ang madalas na pagdedeklara ng red at yellow alerts sa national grid bilang senyales ng malaking problema sa sistema at mga istruktura ng NGCP. 

Nagpatawag din si Sen. Grace Poe, ang Chairperson of the Committee on Public Services, ng audit sa performance ng NGCP at sa mandato nitong sumuporta ng “safe and reliable” transmission system sa ilalim ng Republic Act No. 9511. 

Aniya, nasa NGCP ang “pinakamabigat” na responsibilidad bilang nag-iisang operator ng power grid ng bansa. 

Samantala, sinabi rin ni Sen. Raffy Tulfo na panahon na para magsagawa ng komprehensibong pag-audit sa reliability ng transmission system at performance of the NGCP. 

“President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos, Jr. agreed with my proposal to conduct a comprehensive assessment of the situation to determine whether the government should take back control over the transmission sector,” aniya.
