DAPAT BANTAY-SARADO! Ejercito Ibinida Solusyon Sa UHC Act

Nanawagan si Senador Joseph Victor “JV” Ejercito na buuin na ang Joint Congressional Oversight Committee para sa Universal Health Care (UHC) Act, alinsunod sa Section 39 ng nasabing batas. Layunin ng komite na tiyaking maayos at epektibong naipapatupad ang landmark legislation na ito, na naglalayong bawasan ang gastusin sa kalusugan ng mga Pilipino.

Sa isang public hearing ng Senate Committee on Health and Demography, binigyang-diin ni Ejercito ang pangangailangang suriin ang progreso ng UHC Act, lalo na’t ang Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth) ang pangunahing ahensyang responsable sa pagbibigay ng individual-based health services.

“The goal of the Universal Health Care Act is to lower out-of-pocket expenses. It’s not about having savings or excess funds – it’s about ensuring our countrymen feel the impact of this law,” aniya.

Tinukoy din ng mambabatas na sa kabila ng pagkakaroon ng excess funds sa PhilHealth, marami pa ring Pilipino ang nahihirapang magbayad ng hospital bills. Dahil dito, nanawagan siya na muling suriin ang case rates at benefit packages upang mas matugunan ang pangangailangan ng publiko. Dagdag pa ni Ejercito, ang layunin ng batas ay bawasan ang out-of-pocket expenses ng mga Pilipino at hindi ang mag-ipon ng pondo.

Sumang-ayon naman si Sen. Christopher Lawrence “Bong” Go, na binigyang-diin ang kahalagahan ng pagpapabatid sa publiko tungkol sa implementasyon ng UHC Act.

“Sang-ayon po ako kay Senator JV, mag-oversight tayo. Kailangan po natin i-update ang tao na gawin ang trabaho nila,” aniya sa mga opisyal ng PhilHealth.
